Overview of specialized Florida grants for first-time buyers.

Buying your first home in Florida shouldn't feel like an impossible climb. One of the most significant advantages for local residents is the Florida Hometown Heroes Housing Program. Designed to help those who serve our communities, this program provides substantial down payment and closing cost assistance.
Who Qualifies?
Initially limited to specific professions, the program has expanded. If you are a full-time employee of a Florida-based company and a first-time homebuyer, you may be eligible for up to 5% of your first mortgage loan amount (maximum $35,000) in assistance.
Beyond Hometown Heroes:
Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC): Offers various 30-year fixed-rate mortgages and down payment assistance programs for low-to-moderate-income families.
Local County SHIP Programs: Many Florida counties offer State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funds for local residents.
The Strategy:
These grants can often be "stacked" with other creative financing solutions we offer at MyLoanDesk. Don't let a lack of a massive down payment stop you from building equity in the Sunshine State.
